At the very beginning of Covid-19, many were saying that this pandemic will be the death of real estate in Toronto. However, that prediction did not pan out. The market outside of the Toronto is the most active I have seen since the height of 2017. Offers are coming through on listings after 1 day on the market. I can understand why people would be happy that the market is active and people have purchasing power, motivated by the low interest rates. However, with the rising real estate prices, the dream of home ownership for many through the conventional way is becoming increasing difficult. That's why I think pre-construction is a great way of getting into real estate, while giving buyers time to save money and slowly add to their downpayment.
On a daily basis, I go through quite a lot of pre-construction projects, from condominiums, stacked townhomes, townhouses to detached homes. The current project by Acorn developments in Limerick point has definitely caught my eye. It is located in the landmark green space of the Oak Ridges Moraine, just off of Yonge street and Bloomington in Richmond Hill. The project consists of 19 contemporary detached homes, placed atop rolling hillsides.
The design and finishes of the homes are beautiful, luxurious and breathtaking. The layout, plans, finishes and location are all amazing. There are 10' ceiling on the ground floor, and 9' ceiling on the second floor, finished basement with 8' ceiling.
